SECOND OFFICIAL TRYOUT A SUCCESS
Delaware Dynasty News Release
Sunday, January 29, 2006
CLAYMONT, DE - Delaware Dynasty hosted its second official tryouts in preparation for the 2006 inaugural season beginning in May 2006. Delaware Dynasty's Coaching Staff was on site to lead tryouts and evaluate talent at Archmere Academy's state-of-the-art Sprinturf artificial surface playing field - the official training facility of Delaware Dynasty.
"Between our two open tryouts, we've seen 73 different players. We've identified a player pool of 30 players consisting of 4 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 10 midfielders, and 8 forwards. This pool of players has been invited to four training sessions that have been scheduled in preparation for a friendly match that we have scheduled for February 26th against Eastern Pennsylvania's 88 Boy's Regional ODP Champions. The team that we select for this friendly will be taken from this aforementioned player pool," said Head Coach Fran Kulas.
"We continue to encourage players we haven't seen, along with those who we have, but who were not selected to the pool, to attend the remaining three open tryouts scheduled for 2/19, 3/19, and 4/16. Because of the sheer volume of numbers we've seen and the poor weather conditions at the first two open tryouts, it is possible that we may have missed some players who can play at this level. Any players who have the passion and commitment to play in the PDL are encouraged to take advantage of the remaining open tryouts, as we are still in the early stages of the player selection process."
"It's great to see a higher level of soccer in Delaware", states Andrew 'Rudy' Rudawsky, U.S. National Soccer Team Medical Advisory Committee Member and Physical Therapist for Christiana Care Physical Therapy PLUS. "Delaware Dynasty staffing and its facilities have absolute first class standards. Delaware is very fortunate to have this organizational structure. To be able to have access to play on a field like this shows players true skill levels. This is as professional as it gets!"
Delaware Dynasty's Coaching Staff has been assessing players attending the tryouts and are seeking out some of the nation's top young players. PDL rosters may consist of a maximum of 26 players, with 18 designated for each game. At least three players in a full 26-player roster must be under 19 and a maximum of eight players may be over the age of 23.
Future tryout dates include February 19, March 19, and April 16, 2006. Players who are successful in the open tryouts will receive an invitation to Delaware Dynasty's Invite Only Combine that will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006 and Sunday, April 23, 2006. Opponents for the 2006 Season include Virginia Beach Submariners, VA, Westchester Flames, NY, Reading Rage, PA, Albany Admirals, NY, Rhode Island Stingrays, RI, Ocean City Barons, NJ, Brooklyn Knights, NY, Richmond Kickers Future, VA, Vermont Voltage, VT, and Ottawa Fury, Ontario, Canada.
