Barat, Ferguson, Haney join Dynasty

WILMINGTON, DE - Delaware Dynasty announced the signing of Andy Barat, Daryl Ferguson and Matt Haney.
"I anticipate that Andy Barat's veteran experience as a professional will be extremely beneficial to the other players on our team", said Head Coach Fran Kulas. "Daryl Ferguson is a solid defender whose physical presence and athleticism allows him to deny opponents scoring opportunities while Matt Haney is a solid defender who is extremely composed in the back on the ball and under pressure."
Andy Barat joins Delaware Dynasty as one of the first players signed. As a youth player in Delaware, Andy played soccer in the Concord Soccer Association with the '69 Comets, '70 Spirit, and CS ROMA. After graduating from Concord High School, Barat went on to play for four years at NCAA I Drexel University in Philadelphia. After graduating from College in 1993, Barat joined the Delaware Wizards Professional Soccer Team in their inaugural year. Barat went on to play with the Wizards for 6 seasons, from 1993-1998.
Daryl Ferguson, as a youth player in Maryland, Daryl played soccer in the Western Pennsylvania Foothills Soccer Club. After graduating from St. John's High School (DC), he was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame. Following graduation from high school, Ferguson advanced to play for Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Currently in his junior year at SHU, Daryl is coming off his second consecutive year as an All-American Mideast Conference selection. Ferguson is a pre-med major at SHU and has been named as his team's captain as he enters his senior year in the Fall of 2006.
Matt Haney, a standout soccer player at St. Elizabeth's High School. Haney was a four-time All-Conference selection and a three-time All-State selection. Following his high school career, Haney continued his soccer career at the University of Delaware where he is currently entering his senior season as a two-time team co-captain. Haney was recently named the 2005 Men's Soccer Colonial Athletic Association Scholar Athlete of the Year. He is a two-time ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-American who was named to the third Team in 2004 and the first team in 2005.
Delaware Dynasty also hosted its third official open tryout at Archmere Academy in preparation for its 2006 inaugural season. Dynasty's coaching staff led the sessions on February 19, 2006 where a total of 67 players attended. Future open tryout dates include March 19 and April 16, 2006.
Upcoming friendly matches scheduled for Delaware Dynasty include: February 26 versus Eastern Pennsylvania 88 Boys ODP team, March 26 versus Concord Arsenal U18, April 5 versus Millersville University, April 8 versus St. Joseph's University, April 8 versus Drexel University, and April 15 versus University of Delaware.
