Soccer comes to Delaware

Thinking Delaware needed a higher level of local soccer, Ahmed El-Kadars started making some phone calls about a possible franchise in the Premier Development League. On Wednesday, his efforts paid off with the announcement that the Delaware Dynasty will join the PDL in 2006.
The idea came last August, when El-Kadars was playing an exhibition game with the Vermont Voltage in the semi-professional Premier Development League, which is affiliated with United Soccer Leagues.

WILMINGTON, DE -- Delaware Dynasty Soccer Club announced that they have
officially acquired the franchise rights from United Soccer Leagues (USL)
for a team in the Premier Development League (PDL) for the 2006 season.
The Club is focused on developing the highest level of soccer throughout
Delaware and the Tri-State area.
The United Soccer Leagues is the largest organization of soccer leagues in
North America. United Soccer Leagues is dedicated to growing the sport at
the grassroots level in every community across the US and Canada.
